Lake Bonavista neighbourhood is in the southeast quadrant of Calgary. To the west of Lake Bonavista is Macleod Trail, an eight-lane highway that goes from downtown to the southwest and southeast quadrants of Calgary. The highway has several exits, and at each exit are more than a dozen places to shop, eat, and be entertained. The neighbourhood is 5.2 km or 2.0 square miles with a population of 10,500, making it another small neighbourhood in Calgary.
While Lake Bonavista is a small neighbourhood, it has several commercial businesses located within its town limits. It was also the first to be built around a manmade lake used by the residents for recreational purposes. The contractors removed a part of the lake, made a 65 foothill, and created a beautiful waterfall.
Condos and houses range in price from $200,000 to three million. Square footage varies between 1,500 and 30,000 plus. The architectural designs include Bay-and-Gable, Southcott, Plexes, Craftsman, modern and Traditional make up most of the homes in the Lake Bonavista neighbourhood.

• With a manmade lake, residents can go swimming, boating, paddleboarding, fishing, and participate in several other water activities.
• During the colder months, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, hockey, and skating are popular activities.
The community also has a commercial district that offers shopping and dining. You will find three large shopping malls, food markets, movies, bowling, pubs, nightclubs, indoor skating, hockey, and pretty much anything you would want to do day or night outside the community.
There are also several parks in the area for those who enjoy walking, hiking, biking, and wildlife.
If you’re looking for a cultural experience, there are numerous museums to choose from, or you could visit the cultural centre.
Lake Bonavista has three public bus lines and one train station line. There is an abundance of public transportation to get you where you need and want to go.
