The neighbourhood of Douglasdale is to the southeast quadrant of Calgary. It’s bounded by Bow River to the West, Deerfoot Trail to the east, 130 Avenue S to the south, and 114 Avenue S to the north. With Fish Creek Park on the west border. The neighbourhood is 6.4 km or 2,5 square miles, with a population of 12,000. The household median is middle-class to upper-class mostly families, some couples, and individuals.
There is a small number of Condos but mostly single-family detached homes in the community. They range in price from $350,000 (mostly condos) houses start in the $300,000 range and go to the 5-million-dollar range. Square footage varies between 1,800 and 50,000. The architectural designs include Plexes, Bay-and-Gable, Craftsman, Southcott, Modern, Contemporary, and Traditional are the styles of homes that make up the neighbourhood of Douglasdale with a few of what could be called mansions sprinkled in here and there.
The community has three schools within the town limits.
• Douglasdale Elementary School — It also has an Autistic learning program for students K-4.
• Monsignor J. S. Smith School provides education for grades K-9.
• Catholic School (public) grades K-12
High school students attend one of the district's local high schools, students (parents) can select which one they want their child to go to based on rating, distance, etc.)
With Bow River, nearby residents can enjoy cross-country skiing, hockey, ice skating, playgrounds walking, biking, swimming, boating, paddleboarding, fishing, hiking, and sports.

Neighbourhood involvement is also big in the community. They gather on a regular basis for family events, they put together children’s programs and activities. This is a great way for residents to get to know their neighbours and make new friends and keep the community running smoothly. The residents do take great pride in their neighbourhood.
Most residents drive their cars where they want to go. They do have ten public bus lines that come to the neighbourhood of Douglasdale. So, the residents can get pretty much anywhere they would like to go.
